Calibration is key to producing good quality information from any environmental monitor. Our range of calibration devices is designed to provide you with the highest level of confidence when calibrating flows in gas and particle samplers and monitors or concentrations in gas analysers. All devices and are traceable to international primary or transfer standards. They are designed for both field and laboratory use and are robust and reliable in operation.
BGI TetraCal
The BGI TetraCal® is the first and only volumetric continuous flow calibration /audit device which gives a direct indication of volumetric flow rate, standard flow rate, barometric pressure (both mm/Hg & mb), and ambient temperature in one instrument.
It was developed for use with all types of air samplers in the 0.1 to 60 lpm range.
It is the only field audit / calibration device which meets the same temperature criteria as EPA and European designated samplers themselves.
The temperature range is -30° to 55° C (EPA requires up to 40° C).
Std temperature can be at zero or twenty degrees C. (Please state at order)
The heart of the TetraCal® is a venturi which is superior to an orifice in that it offers no sharp edges which can be damaged and a 90% recovery of the measurement pressure drop, important when calibrating some forms of speciation samplers or other critical orifice controlled devices. Because flow through the instrument is uninterupted, our graphic software provides a continuous output display of all functions.
The TetraCal covers flows from 0.1 lpm to 30 lpm
The TetraCal Ultra covers flows from 0.1 lpm to 60 lpm (Ideal for European Std Samplers @ 2.3m3/hr) |

BGI DeltaCal
The BGI DeltaCal is the first and only continuous volumetric flow calibration/audit device which gives a direct indication of volumetric flow rate, standard flow rate, barometric pressure (both mm/Hg & mb), ambient temperature and filter temperature in one instrument. It was developed for use with U.S. EPA PM2.5 designated samplers and their PM10 derivatives. With an accessory adapter it is usable with any air sampler in the 1.5 to 19.5 Lpm range. The DC100 Euro version has a range of 10-60 Lpm.
It is the only field audit/calibration device which meets the same temperature criteria as the EPA and Europeean designated samplers themselves. The temperature range is -30° to 55° C (EPA requires up to 40° C).

Because flow through the instrument is uninterupted, our BGI Open Freeware graphic software provides a continuous output display of all functions.
BGI Hi-Vol Calibrator is a special version of the DeltaCal which is designed for use with high volume samplers up to 900 lpm flow. |
HiVolCal
An Electronic Calibrator for High Volume Air Sampling Instruments
The new direct reading HiVolCal shares the advanced features of all BGI calibrators and completely eliminates the traditional drudgery of performing a manual calibration with its attendant error potential. Two HiVolCal models have been produced, which will cover all conceivable needs in the flow ranges from 1.4 to 54 Cubic feet/minute. ( 39.64lit/min > 1529 lit/ min)
Applications:
- High Volume Air Samplers
- PUF Samplers
- High and Low Flow Rate Impactors
- Radiological Air Sampling

GasCal 1100
The GasCal 1100 uses the latest technology in a simple and effective way to precisely control the dilution of gas standards for calibration of ambient air and source monitoring analyzers. The calibrator may be connected with up to 4 external gas cylinders for precise dilution of these gas standards with dilution air in order to generate a wide range of user configurable gas concentrations sequences.
Ozone generator option
Gas phase titrations and ozone analyzer precision checks may also be performed using the GasCal 1100’s extremely stable optional internal ozone generator. The ozone generator produces a continuous flow of ozone using the photochemical reaction of oxygen with ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 185 nm. The ultraviolet lamp used to stimulate this reaction is maintained at 50.0 °C ±0.1°C by a proportional temperature controller and the ozone flow rate of 100 sccm is kept stable using a precision mass flow controller |
Model 408 NO Calibration Source
The Model 408 NO Calibration Source is a highly portable source of nitric oxide in the range 0-1000 ppb. The Model 408 may be used to calibrate any nitric oxide monitor, including those based on chemiluminescence. In addition to the calibration of instruments used for air monitoring, an important application is the calibration of nitric oxide breath analyzers such as the Aerocrine NIOX® and NIOX MINO® used for diagnosis and evaluation of asthma patients. The NO Cal Source produces nitric oxide in NO-scrubbed ambient air by photolysis of nitrous oxide provided by small N2O ("Whippit")cartridges or from a lecture bottle. The calibration gas is supplied at an output flow rate of 3 L/min. The instrument may be programmed to output a series of up to 10 NO concentration steps with a chosen time interal. |
Model 306 Ozone Calibration Source
The Model 306 Ozone Calibration Source is a highly portable ozone transfer standard that may used to calibrate any ozone monitor or sensor. Ozone is generated at any chosen concentration in the range 0-1000 ppb in ozone-scrubbed ambient air at a volumetric flow rate of 3 L/min. No external air source is requried. The instrument may be programmed to output a series of up to 10 ozone concentration steps with a chosen time interal. The Ozone Calibration Source? is provided with a NIST-traceable calibration, and the menu allows the user to calibrate the output to their own reference instrument. This Ozone Cal Source is particularly useful for calibrating networks of ozone monitors in the field. |
